Alison Takamiya Wins Ad Rutschman Women's Small College Co-Athlete of the Year
The Oregon Sports Awards honored athletes at the Night of Champions Tuesday night

PORTLAND, Oregon - Alison Takamiya added to her list of awards on Tuesday night as she was honored with the Ad Rutschman Women's Small College Co-Athlete of the Year at the Oregon Sports Awards Night of Champions Tuesday.
Takamiya who plays women’s golf at George Fox won the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Individual Championship after helping George Fox win the team championship in 2023.
She earned her third Northwest Conference Player of the Year honor following the 2024 season, adding to an impressive resume that includes the 2024 Division III PING WGCA Player of the Year and the 2024 Division III Inkster Award.
"I am so thrilled for Alison on this well-deserved award!" Bruin women's golf head coach MaryJo McCloskey said, "Alison gives so much to her sport and team, and it's great to see her hard work pay off with this tremendous recognition. It's also a first for our program so it's nice to get our school's name out there as a national contender in the golf world. Our entire team is celebrating and could not be happier for Alison!"
When the LPGA Portland Classic came to Portland this summer, she received a sponsor exemption to play in the event where she narrowly missed the cut after shooting even par through two rounds.
The award honors Ad Rutschman who guided Linfield College to four national championships, three in football and one in baseball, in 24 seasons. He is the only college coach at any level to win national titles in two different sports. A five-time Slats Gill Award winner, he is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
This award goes to the outstanding male and female student-athletes representing the state’s 14 NCAA Division II and III, NAIA-affiliated colleges and universities, and 10 community colleges.
Takamiya was a co-winner alongside Southern Oregon women's wrestler Carolina Moreno. Who won her third consecutive NAIA wrestling title in 2024.
The Oregon Sports Awards have honored outstanding achievements by Oregon’s state’s prep, amateur, and professional athletes, as well as teams, coaches, and administrators for over 70 years.
