MOBILE, Alabama - Gigi Stoll finds herself tied for fifth going into the final round of the LPGA Tour Final Qualifying in the LPGA Q-Series at Magnolia Grove Golf Course.
Stoll, 27, and a Beaverton native shot a 74-65-65-67, good for 15-under through the first four rounds of the Final Qualifying.
99 players made the Final Qualifying while after Sunday’s round, the top 65 plus ties made it through to the final round which will be played Monday.
The top 25 and ties after 90 holes will get 2025 LPGA Tour cards.
After Saturday’s round, Stoll explained her back-to-back 65s.
“I think the first round played a little tougher with the conditions, but I felt like my game was in a good spot,” said Stoll. “I just came out firing yesterday, got off to a good start, birdied two of the first three, and then same with today. I mean, I felt like my game was trending in the right direction, you know, through the whole bag. Putting really well and playing really well.”
Stoll made 10 starts on the LPGA Tour while also making nine starts on the Epson Tour in 2024. She finished seventh at the Dow Championship on the LPGA Tour back in June with a 17-under tournament.
Different from last year’s Q-Series when Stoll earned her LPGA Tour card for the 2024 season, this year the top 25 will earn their card, compared to the top 45 last year.
“It’s definitely a learning experience,” Stoll said. “The more you can be in this these type of situations the better you can prepare for it. I feel like last year and the year before really prepped me to be out here this week and to mentally stay in it the whole time. Anything can happen, you can get hot at anytime, so staying present and enjoying the moment.”
Last year, Stoll finished tied for 45th on the number to earn her LPGA Tour card at the Q-Series.
“It’s more difficult with 20 less spots, but the same mentality focusing and playing as good as you can is all you can do,” Stoll said. “Not too worried about where I stand or how I’m doing but just getting the job done.”
Stoll played at the University of Arizona where she won her team won a National Championship in 2018.
“I only got 10 starts I think, it was kind of difficult bouncing back and forth between LPGA and Epson,” Stoll said. “Being out there and understanding what it takes to be out there is amazing experience and it’s definitely transferred to this week with a really good field.”
In 2023, Stoll won the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic for her first Epson Tour victory. She held the second and third-round leads, at the same course she played at during her collegiate career, Sewailo Golf Club.
Stoll joined the Epson Tour in 2019 after a successful junior and collegiate career.
Update: The fifth round was washed out on Monday due to rain. The final round will finish on Tuesday.
