CARMEL, California—The Oregon men’s golf team has had an up-and-down fall season, but on Tuesday, the Ducks finished on a high note, earning their best finish of the fall.

No. 38 Oregon finished fourth overall as a team at the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate with 3-under par, its first result of par or better this season.

Eric Doyle earned his first top-five finish since his sophomore campaign after finishing fourth, shooting a 7-under 209 for his lowest score of the season in the 54-hole event.

"We were closer this event to breaking through," Oregon head coach Casey Martin said. "Our guys improved this fall which is good to see, and we're excited for the spring."

It marks the Ducks' first top-four finish as a team since last season's Western Intercollegiate, where they also came in fourth.

No. 15 UCLA took home the team title at 23-under par, 10 strokes ahead of runner-up San Diego State.

Colorado State's Jay Pabin claimed the individual title at 9-under, with UCLA's Pablo Ereno and SDSU's Chanachon Chokprajakchat just behind him at 8-under. Doyle was the lone competitor to finish at 7-under.

Doyle tallied six birdies and a bogey across 36 holes on Monday, and that momentum carried into Tuesday's final round. The senior turned in his second flawless scorecard of the tournament, posting 16 pars to go along with birdies on No. 13 and No. 18 for a third-round 70.

Jay Gould-Healy also put together his best tournament as a Duck, earning his first-career top-10 finish. The junior tallied four birdies and three bogeys for a 1-under 71, his second under-par round of the tournament and third of the season.

Aiden Krafft earned his third top-25 finish of the season with a 1-over 217 to place T21. Krafft carded two birdies in his final round, but three bogeys and a double in his final nine holes led to a 4-over 76. The junior led the Ducks with 13 birdies and a 4.75 par-5 scoring average.

Greyson Leach posted his best round of the event in the finale, shooting a 1-over 73 with 17 pars and a bogey. The senior finished T39 with a 6-over 222.

The fall season has seen the Ducks tied for 6th at the Sahalee Players Championship, 11th at the Tindall, 13th at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, and 4th at the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate.

The highlight of the fall though came when Aiden Krafft, won the Sahalee Players Championship.

“Amazing couple of days for Aiden,” Martin said after the Sahalee Players Championship. “He has been up early every morning working on his game, grinding away. I’m so happy he gets to enjoy the results of his hard work.”

Kraft said after the win that it was unexpected.

“It was really cool, a little bit unexpected to get my first win,” Krafft said. “You don’t go in thinking you’re going to win that week. The emotions were up and down, and at the end it was really exciting. It was really cool and I really loved it.”

Kraft is from New Mexico and has an interesting story of how he ended up at the University of Oregon.

The Ducks will open the spring season at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate on Feb. 7-9, 2025, in Hawaii.

The spring season will also bring local tournaments for Oregon including the Bandon Dunes Championship on March 9-11 at Bandon Trails and the Ducks Invitational at Eugene Country Club on March 24 and 25.
