PORTLAND, Oregon - Victoria Gailey, a name that resonates with determination, skill, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, is making waves in the world of golf.

Hailing from Tigard, Oregon, Gailey has set her sights on the LPGA Tour, a dream that is both ambitious and attainable given her remarkable trajectory in the sport since graduating from the University of Nevada in 2023.

“I grew up in a golfing family,” Gailey said. “My dad is a PGA teaching professional and my mom's side of the family also were golfers including my nana Doris Gill (OWGA winner and avid golfer) and Aunt Linda Gill (played at OSU). I graduated from Tigard High School in 2018 and then went to play D1 college golf at The University of Nevada, Reno. After finishing school I moved back home and turned professional in August 2023.”

Gailey is playing on the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) to gain experience at this stage of her professional career. The tour will play 13 events this year from April to September.

“My goal with playing on the WAPT is to gain as much experience as possible and improve my game so that I can not only get to the LPGA but be successful out there,” Gailey said. “The WAPT is connected to the Epson tour. If you finish in the top 5 in season points you are exempt to the Qualifying Stage of LPGA qualifying tournaments which guarantees some Epson tour status for the following year. Additionally, if you place first or second in any of the events played on the WAPT you receive an exemption into a designated Epson tour event in the current season.”

She won the ANNIKA WAPT FCA Women’s Championship in 2024 with a 5-under tournament. She played in the Pendelton Classic, in Pendelton, Oregon in 2023 tying for 35th place at 1-under.

“I have always been a high achiever,” Gailey said. “In whatever I wanted to do I wanted to be the best, and then combine that with a passion and a love of golf, that is the root as to why I want to play at the highest level. Secondly my inspiration came from LPGA Portland Classic. Going out there as a young girl and getting a glimpse of what the LPGA was all about, that is where the dream really came to life.”

Gailey played in the LPGA Tour Portland Classic for the first time in 2024, marking her return to the place where her dream began.

Although she missed the cut, it was her first LPGA Tour event after sitting 2-over through the first two days.

In 2022, Gailey won the Oregon Amateur, Oregon Public Links, Oregon Tour Championship, and qualified for the NCAA regionals at Nevada.

Her journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment and passion for the sport. She spends countless hours on the course, perfecting her swing, sharpening her mental game, and preparing for the grueling qualifying tournaments that lie ahead.

“Having both of those starts in Oregon means so much to me and will be memories I cherish forever,” Gailey said. “I have so much pride in being from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest and will to carry that through the remainder of my career.

“Winning on the WAPT last year is my greatest accomplishment thus far. In my first year as a professional I won, which was something I hoped (and knew I was capable of) but did not expect. It really gave me the reassurance that I am doing the right things to get better and that I can compete at the professional level.”

The Tigard community has rallied behind Victoria, offering unwavering support as she chases her dreams. Local businesses sponsor her tournaments as it requires an investment to play in order to make it the LPGA Tour.

Her story has inspired many young golfers in the area, proving that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

Victoria Gailey's story is one of passion, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
